Stan Irvin
Stan Irvin received his M.F.A. in Ceramics from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 where he studied primarily with Ishmael Soto and Ron Bowling. Stan developed the ceramics program at Laguna Gloria Art Museum in Austin in that same year and in 1976 set up the ceramics program at St. Edward’s University. Stan currently teaches ceramics and sculpture, directs the Fine Arts Exhibit Program and is the Art Department Area Coordinator at St. Edward’s.
Maintaining his studio in central Austin, Stan single-fires his work in a high-temperature reduction kiln. His work may be seen at ClayWays of Austin, Sunset Canyon Pottery and Gallery in Dripping Springs, Texas and at the Texas Clay Festival held annually in Gruene, Texas. His work was also included in the 2006 Art Of The Pot studio tour in Austin.
