Jessica studied art and ceramics at Alberta College of Art and Design, Penland School of Craft and has participated in a number of workshops. She discovered the joys of clay at a very young age and made it her fulltime pursuit and passion about seven years ago. Jessica makes functional ceramic forms that employ several surface techniques. Her work has been described as playful and whimsical. She draws inspiration from mid-century illustrations and designs, folk art and her love of animals. Although the surfaces of her pieces are highly embellished, form and function also play important roles in her work.
